Dimitrov Defeats Harrison At Wimbledon

Dimitrov

Dimitrov Makes Impressive Start It couldn’t have been a better start to Wimbledon for Dimitrov with a 7-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Ryan Harrison in the opening round. It was good to see him on one of the show courts, he had plenty of support and managed to continue the form that saw him win the title at Queens club. The first set was by far the closest of the match, both players came out serving well and Dimitrov had very few chances when returning serve to make much of an impact. The set looked like it was heading for [...]

Superb Dimitrov Wins Queens

dimitrov queens trophy

Dimitrov Defeats Lopez In Three Sets It was an amazing week for Dimitrov in London, winning his first grass court title and his third title of the year. It was an extremely close match that could have gone either way but Dimitrov won a final set tie break to take the biggest win of his career to date. The match itself was dominated by serve, this was a great serving display by Dimitrov, 73% first serves in and 27 aces shows how good a serve he has when landing it consistently. It was always going to be close, Lopez had [...]

Dimitrov Wins Opener At Queens

Dimitrov Defeats Ward In Straight Sets The first grass court match of the season and a good start from Dimitrov, it definitely wasn’t his best tennis but he won quite comfortably 7-5, 6-3 and will progress to face either Nicolas Mahut or Eduoard Roger-Vasselin. The first match when moving to a new surface can always be tricky and it takes a while to find rhythm and it definitely told today. Dimitrov always looked in control and you couldn’t see him losing the match but he struggled with his timing. The first set went with serve until 6-5 when Ward played [...]

Dimitrov Crashes Out To Karlovic

dimitrov

Dimitrov Loses In First Round Of Paris Not the result I was hoping for and not the performance either. This was a definite dip in form from Dimitrov at the wrong time. It was a dangerous match but still one I expected him to win, in the end however it ended with a 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 defeat. Any match against Karlovic is going to be close, he serves too well and you are unlikely to get many chances to break serve. Dimitrov only created one break point chance in the match and was unable to take it. The first two [...]

Dimitrov To Face Karlovic In Paris

Roland Garros

Dimitrov In Tricky Opener The second slam of the season is here and it is a tough draw for Dimitrov, an opening match against huge serving Ivo Karlovic awaits. Dimitrov is seeded 11 and will be hoping for a good run especially after a career best performance in the first slam of the year in Australia. As far as opening matches go Karlovic is a bit of a nightmare, his game is all about serve and it is unlikely Dimitrov will be able to find much rhythm against him. This will make it all the more important that Dimitrov takes [...]
