Dimitrov Loses To Nishikori In Miami

Dimitrov Gets Edged Out In Two Close Sets It was a very close match but unfortunately Dimitrov lost this 7-6, 7-5 and exited Miami at the same stage as last year. This was a disappointing result in a match I had high hopes he would win. The first set was very close and there was some good tennis from both. Dimitrov was hitting his backhand pretty well and his serve looked solid. Neither player was able to take the one break point they created and the set headed for a tie break. The tie break was a disaster for Dimitrov, [...]

Dimitrov Wins Opener In Miami

Dimitrov Beats Montanes In Three Sets This wasn’t the most convincing performance but it got the job done, it was a slightly strange match as Dimitrov won 25 more points but had to work in the end to come out the victor 6-1, 6-7, 6-3. The opening set didn’t get off to the best start for Dimitrov and he faced 2 break points in his second service game. Fortunately he was able to save them and indeed they would be the only break points he would face the entire match. From there the set was over in no time with [...]

Dimitrov Eases Past Haase In Opening Match

Dimitrov Sets Up Another Meeting With Gulbis This was potentially a tricky match but Dimitrov won it comfortably in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. It was good to see him finish in two sets and conserve energy for what will no doubt be a much tougher third round match. I have only seen highlights of the match but while there were a few areas of concern some of the shotmaking we are now seeing from Dimitrov is world class. This is what has always made me think he can go all the way to the top, that ability to do things [...]

Dimitrov Will Look For Good Run In Indian Wells

dimitrov

The first Masters of the year has arrived and Dimitrov comes into it on the back of the best win of his career in Acapulco. The masters events are at a different level though and winning one is probably as tough as winning a slam given all the top players are there and there is no rest days between matches in the latter stages. The opening match for Dimitrov is in the second round as he received a bye in the first as 15th seed. It will see him take on Robin Haase or John Patrick-Smith, I can’t see Haase [...]

Dimitrov Triumphs In Acapulco

Dimitrov Wins Tight Three Setter Any doubt about the fighting qualities of Dimitrov have been wiped out this week in Acapulco. The last three matches all against a high standard of opponent have seen Dimitrov come back from losing positions and turn the matches around. This is only his second tournament win but the performances and attitude on court have to give all his fans a right to feel confident about the rest of the year. The match today was another very tough one. Anderson has been in good form and with his big game is always dangerous. The opening [...]
