Dimitrov Crashes Out To Karlovic

dimitrov

Dimitrov Loses In First Round Of Paris Not the result I was hoping for and not the performance either. This was a definite dip in form from Dimitrov at the wrong time. It was a dangerous match but still one I expected him to win, in the end however it ended with a 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 defeat. Any match against Karlovic is going to be close, he serves too well and you are unlikely to get many chances to break serve. Dimitrov only created one break point chance in the match and was unable to take it. The first two [...]

Dimitrov To Face Karlovic In Paris

Roland Garros

Dimitrov In Tricky Opener The second slam of the season is here and it is a tough draw for Dimitrov, an opening match against huge serving Ivo Karlovic awaits. Dimitrov is seeded 11 and will be hoping for a good run especially after a career best performance in the first slam of the year in Australia. As far as opening matches go Karlovic is a bit of a nightmare, his game is all about serve and it is unlikely Dimitrov will be able to find much rhythm against him. This will make it all the more important that Dimitrov takes [...]

Dimitrov Crashes Out To Djokovic In Paris

Dimitrov Loses In Straight Sets After all the anticipation this definitely wasn’t the performance Dimitrov’s supporters were hoping for. A 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 loss meant a more one sided match than many people expected.I feel pretty disappointed, I didn’t think he would win this match, it was always going to be a tall order to beat Djokovic on clay over best of 5 sets, but I was hoping even if he lost that he would play great tennis. I actually haven’t seen all the match, I was out last night and recorded it. Half way through the recording they switched [...]

Below Par Nadal Through To Third Round

Nadal

Klizan Pushes Nadal All The Way Rafael Nadal is through to the third round of the French Open, it definitely wasn’t vintage Nadal, but like so many times throughout his career he found a way to win. This was the first match on Suzanne Lenglen and in the early stages if looked like Nadal hadn’t woken up. The first set saw Nadal standing further back in the court than usual. He struggled to make any impact and the forehand that is usually so reliable was throwing up a lot of errors. His opponent Martin Klizan was as high as 26 [...]

Dimitrov Defeats Pouille In Straight Sets

Dimitrov

Dimitrov Comfortably Into Third Round A good straight sets victory for Grigor Dimitrov today 6-1, 7-6, 6-1 over Lucas Pouille. The scoreline makes it look easy but there were some uncomfortable moments for Dimitrov. The first set went just about perfectly for Dimitrov. He played the consistent solid tennis that is sometimes lacking in his game. His forehand was effective and allowed him to dictate play. The opening game with Dimitrov serving went to deuce, but that was about as close as Pouille came to making an impact in the set. Dimitrov won that game and then broke for 2-0 [...]
